The British Virgin Islands (BVI) is a popular destination for the formation of companies due to the fact you do not have to pay corporate or income tax.
BVI has an excellent reputation for abiding by all international AML regulations and has long been considered as “white” clean financially.
The BVI Financial Services Commission’s (FSC) is responsible for the administration, regulation and management of their registry. According to their latest statistical bulletin there are a total of 402,234 Business Companies registered in the Virgin Islands.
What information is available?
A full search of the registry will return Correct Company Name, Registration Number, Date of Incorporation, Name and Address of the Registered Agent, Registered Office, Authorised Share Capital, Summary of filed documents, Latest filed Memorandum & Articles of Association plus any subsequent Resolutions, Certificate of Incorporation, Certificates of Change of Name, mortgage documents, and Details of any liquidation / dissolution or striking off proceedings on file.
What you can’t get directly from the registry is Annual Return, Accounts, Secretary, Shareholders and issued share capital. You can get directors details depending on whether the company has opted for this information to be available publicly available or not.
